Be who you want to be, not what others expect of you;

Pink, pretty for the eyes, mind & soul.

30 August 2013
Hey there, just two days ago, I managed to pay a visit to the Majestic Hotel in KL for my afternoon tea along with two of my friends, Sarah & Leanne :) Heh, thanks to Sarah for making the reservation!;) For this particular afternoon tea, we had ours at the special room called Orchid Conservatory Room instead of the normal cafe area where you usually have your afternoon tea. & if you're wondering how much we had to pay for this, actually, to secure our booking in advance at the Orchid room, one of us had to pay for the 50% deposit (turns out my friend paid it in order to confirm our reservation for 3) and it was RM80++ per person for the afternoon tea at Majestic Hotel usually. So, overall, each of us paid RM103 in exact just for having afternoon tea at the Majestic Hotel's Orchid Room.

If you ask me how was it, I would say, it's good to try it out at least once if you're seeking for a different kind of environment to have your afternoon tea. Also, in my opinion, I strongly feel that going there just to have your afternoon tea is kind of overrated. To be honest, I've been to many other afternoon teas back in the UK, and in comparison, any of London's 5 stars/6 stars' afternoon tea would be much better than what I had in Majestic. In terms of the quality of food, pastries, & desserts that they offer, London's would be far better than this. Not only that, the thing that I didn't really like about the afternoon tea at Majestic Hotel was that they only offered Tea or Coffee as their afternoon tea package. You can't even choose what sort of tea you want to have to go with your food & all. I mean, back in London, I pay like 39 pounds for my afternoon tea, I can get what sort of tea & any sort of drink I want, excluding alcohol (champagne etc) as you will be charged for a different fee. Therefore, I believe that the selection of tea & coffee is truly limited in Majestic's! If you're a tea lover like me, I don't think having your afternoon tea at Majestic's would be a great idea after all.

Well, needless to say, I've taken some pictures while I was in the Orchid Room the other day. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking then :p Enjoy!

The two chairs at the corner of the room. More for display & for taking pictures purpose I feel :p

The setting of my table that day.

As you've entered the Orchid Room, you'll see this. Also, did you notice the old-fashioned looking fans  against the wall? c:

In my opinion, the orchids and plants on this side of the room seemed a bit run down or dead looking. :O

A picture of three of us with our afternoon tea sets :)

Another picture of us before we start feasting! :p

A closer-up for the afternoon tea set. To me, it's just rather typical. Nothing special about it as it has the usual kind of thing that you can find in most afternoon teas as well. The only different this is, this one has a Foie Gras sandwich (somewhere at the bottom of the stand).

Our afternoon tea set for 3.

After our afternoon tea, it was time to take more pictures! heh.

Another picture of 3 of us at the orchid room :) (sorry for the rather awkward head-looking pose. haha)

A FINAL shot of us. In case you're wondering :p

Heh, a not-so-nice polaroid shot of us. But oh wells.

Aside from the review about the whole afternoon tea experience that I had at Majestic Hotel, I enjoyed the company with two of the girls whom I've not met for a long, long time! It was great catching up with these girls after such a long time, I think it was more than 2 years that we haven't met each other! :O Thus, the afternoon tea at Majestic was rather a great place to have long-talks and endless conversations with them, and also a suitable ambience to catch up with the girls! Just so you know, even though the Orchid Room is overrated, but to my surprise, it's actually a rather good location & place to have a meet-up with your friends as it offers quite some privacy while you're at the room instead of anywhere outside at the cafe. This is because in the Orchid room itself, there are only three small tables that can accommodate no more than 16 people I think. Hence, it is actually not too bad to have a mini-gathering or some sort over there :D hehe. In case you're wondering what time the high tea starts, it is actually from 3pm-6pm, so, you actually have a whole 3 hours to chit-chat & eat all you can! Heh.

Later that night itself, I went to Pavilion to meet up with some of my girls, partly also to meet the belated birthday girl, Amanda & Yan Hong who flew from Singapore :) It was a good short meet-up with the girls I would say. Although I arrived quite late, but it wasn't so bad after all since we managed to sing another round of birthday song to the belated birthday girl again! Haha. Pictures are as below:

Rather shock to see slices of crepe cakes in front of her with candles :p

Birthday girl with her four slices of crepe cakes! Flavours are such as: Vanilla, Matcha, Strawberry & Tiramisu! :D

Amanda, Yee Xin, Yan Hong, Evonne & I. Everyone looked great in this picture, except for me -_-" I look so unprepared. HAHA.

In short, it was definitely great to see Amanda & Yan Hong again. These two are almost hard to meet during the summer holidays, let alone in the UK! haha. One in Leeds, another one in Cambridge! :p I guess it was a short night filled with lovely company & good food + desserts :)

The picture above is actually the necklace that I bought recently off a website that Melody introduced to me lately. If you're curious about how much it costs, it's actually about 52SGD, so, about RM168 in total. I've been anticipating the arrival of this particular necklace itself for more than a week! & finally, it arrived at my doorstep yesterday :D Such a happy girl then! haha. But also, I would like to thank Melody for introducing that website to me because everything on that website is just so lovely & pretty! Not only that, the necklace that I've purchased is definitely so me, the neon pink stones are such an eye-catcher! I wouldn't mind wearing them out every day. :p

Okay, okay. I know you all can sense my excitement about this necklace already. I'm just wondering when would it be the day where I could finally wear it out and show it off, telling everyone how beautiful it is. (RIGHT, like I will) HAHA. Anyways, if you're interested to know where I got this necklace, just ask me! :D

That's all for today's post. Till then.
