Be who you want to be, not what others expect of you;

My craze for sneakers.

8 May 2013
Hey there, today I'll be sharing on some of the sneakers that I've been purchasing for the past few months.

I actually started my crave for hidden wedged sneakers for the first time since Isabel Marant launched her sneakers. I would say, her invention is one of the best in history to date.. because of her innovative creation, many other inspired designers only began this idea of shoes and also started producing similar ones like hers. For someone like me who isn't very tall, which is around 5'3" only, these kind of sneakers are definitely worth investing for since I would like to see myself getting heightened on quite a daily-basis, heh. Therefore, I finally got my first pair of Isabel Marant somewhere at the end of November last year from Harvey Nichols for around £400 after looking for it for God-knows how long! I was on the waiting list for so long until one day, I got really lucky that the personal shopper in HN rang me up since the initial buyer didn't turn up. Hah. What a miracle ;)

Well, this pair is indeed a little wee bit pricey compared to the normal ones as it's the one with the python prints on. In my opinion, since Isabel Marant sneakers are all made in Portugal and they are all manufactured from calf leather mainly, which explains the price that you're paying for:) I personally think that it is worth investing in IM sneakers as you are not only paying the price for a pair of designer shoes, but also for the excellent workmanship and quality that they are of;) So here's the picture of my first pair of IM:)

Sorry if the picture quality isn't that good, since I've taken the pictures from my iPhone5 itself;)

After my first pair of Isabel Marant since, I've been wearing it so often until I can feel that the calf leather of the shoes has been getting more and more seasoned, ie softer and more huggable to your feet over time;p Since my Virgin buy of Isabel Marant shoes' been so satisfying and wonderful, I've then decided to purchase another pair, but this time, it was the newer collection's design, which is the ones with the stars at the sides of the shoes. Therefore, I got another pair, but this time, I went for something brighter with colour rather than just grey.

As you can see, I got the purple ones! Heh, for this pair, I paid £375 for it as I got it off from the website itself which is from Matchesfashion.com where on Isabel Marant's website, she's recommended a few online websites that you can only get her sneakers, other than that, it would be all fakes or replicas. :) I would say, if you're lucky and an early bird, try getting it off from the websites like Matches or even Net-a-porter as they often release the sneakers way faster and earlier than they do in department stores like Harvey Nichols or Selfridges. It is often easier to get it from the website as well honestly.. Since department stores tend to have really limited stocks, unless you are one of the customers who is on the priority list for the sneakers :)

And finally, I got my final pair of Isabel Marant sneakers. This time, I got it from Selfridges itself as the staff was really so nice enough to ring me up while I wasn't even in Manchester that time, to tell me that they had the pair of IM sneaks that I've been looking for in my size. How wonderful isn't it? Heh, I thought so too. So, it was actually the yellow pair that I've been searching for!

This pair, was £395 instead. Department stores tend to charge more than if you buy it off from the websites itself. Therefore, I would suggest you to get it off from the websites instead if you really would want to save like £20=RM100.

So, here's a combination of all my IM sneakers:

I actually wanted to get the latest design of IM sneakers, but it seemed too plain for me as it's just all in grey but with red/blue/black sides around the shoe flaps and certain parts of the shoes, which occurred to me that it's not really a statement pair of IM sneaks. If you're curious about which ones that I'm talking about, they actually look like these:

I just can't wait for the upcoming collection of IM's sneakers, if she's ever gonna release new designs for her sneakers again.. Cause sometimes, I've been hearing rumours about her not wanting to release anymore sneakers in the future :/ well, let's just hope that the news isn't true.

Apart from Isabel Marant's sneakers, I've been investing on somewhat more affordable and casual sneakers where you won't have to worry about them getting spots/stains or any damage when you put them on. So, they are actually from Nike! I gotta tell you something, these sneaks are seriously worth buying, because you can always wear them to class, for long walks, and anywhere actually! To be honest, I only wear these to lectures now since I have to walk about 15 minutes almost everyday for classes.. They are not only comfortable to walk in, you don't have to worry about the rain or mud or anything, I basically just wear them while walking on the road everyday. And guess what, they just seemed fine to me, still in good condition and everything. The most expensive pair that I bought only costed me about £135, which is the limited edition Nike city pack from New York. I'll show you pictures of them in a bit. In the meantime, if you are looking to get a pair of Isabel Marant sneakers, but can't afford to get one or they are not available anymore at the moment, why not just start off with something more affordable and of equally good quality as well? After all, I am sure that you won't be wearing your Isabel Marant sneakers to walk on rainy days, or even while you're walking on the road for a long time, am I right?:) So, these Nike hidden-wedges can equally do the same wonders that Isabel Marant sneakers can do for you too: heighten you & offer comfort to your feet. Heh.

Well, I actually started buying this because while I was walking in my IM sneakers on the streets of London, it started snowing out of nowhere around beginning of January this year... And so, it just felt so painful to see my sneakers getting snow flakes on it each time when I take a step... Thus, I immediately thought of these Nike sneakers which can take off my worries about my shoes getting wet and dirty, and also able to heighten me the same as what IM sneakers could do! Here is my very first pair of Nike sneaks:

This pair is actually one of the limited edition sneakers as it is the Liberty London's design. I got this for £115.. which isn't too bad in my opinion;) As you can see, it's a bit old now because I've been wearing it to school ever since I got it from January itself until today: May! So judging from the picture, it's current condition, I would say is not too bad at all!

My next pair was just a random one that I've decided to get off from the Nike.com website since I was really happy with my first purchase, I've decided to get another one where I can wear it as often as I wear the one on top as well. So, the following pair was just £85. Good buy;)

This design is known as the vintage design. The colour of this pair is actually of a bit of blue-ish and some glitters over it. I would say, it's quite a nice pair that u can go dressy with or even pair it up with white or light denim blue skinny jeans;)

The next two pairs would be the ones that I got when the Nike City Pack was launched about 2 months ago;)

This is the Nike city pack specially for Milan;) If I'm not wrong, this pair was for about £135.

The next one would be the New York's city pack:

I think I had to pay about 2 pounds more for this pair due to the difference in quality. This pair consists of some sort of furry thing on it, which I don't really know what's it of.. So, this pair was for £137;)

To show you an overview of my Nike sneakers, here's it:

So all in all, these are the sneakers that I own at the moment. I'm hoping to scout and look out for more upcoming and new designs of sneakers that are really suitable and nice for me;) Oh, actually, I realised that Giuseppi Zanotti's hidden-wedge sneakers look equally amazing as the Isabel Marant's. But the only downside is, I feel that my feet always tend to sink in whenever I try walking on them before I even consider purchasing them in the first place. So, I will continue to look out for a better pair of GZ wedge sneakers, to see whether if there's going to be one that will suit my tiny-weeny ankle and my feet perfectly fine in future! But most of all, I'm just waiting for Isabel Marant's upcoming collection for sneakers, if there IS going to be one! Heh.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading it xx
