Be who you want to be, not what others expect of you;

Simple yet exquisite

6 October 2016
Day 1 at Beijing before the Summer School MBA in Economics & Finance Exchange Programme at Tsinghua commenced - 15th May 2016

The highlight on the first day of my arrival was my dinner along with two of my friends at this beautifully decorated yet filled with such great ambience Vegetarian restaurant! Not to forget, the service offered by this restaurant certainly deserved a 5*'s! This place is called King's Joy (京兆尹), with an average spending of 450 Chinese Yuan per person among 3 people with the amount of food that we've ordered as seen in the pictures below. The best part of this visit was the restaurant was located at the heart of Beijing, that is Zone 1, also known as 一环, which is definitely a location surrounding a lot of prime tourist sites, a good choice for dining if you're a tourist around the area.

& to be honest, we did not expect our dinner place at this Vegetarian restaurant to turn out such "fine-ly" since we sort of took a cab blindly from our accommodation at Zone 4 area and just went to the restaurant based on strong recommendations by our friends and reviews without even knowing the exact attire requirements and settings of the restaurant. Haha. Either way, our dinner turned out to be great and we definitely did not regret paying such a visit to this lavish restaurant..

The big signage of the restaurant... & did I not mention as you walk into the restaurant, there's mist spraying out from the bottom, as though you've walked into a garden from those Dynasty times? Haha.. It's definitely a great experience!

A very nutritious vegetarian soup that tasted so much like chicken soup..

Loved this hot drink which was so high in antioxidant content and nutrition value for females :) If you're one who adores health drink from the East a lot like me, let me tell you that this place would be your heaven!

Vegetarian ZhaJiangMian (炸酱面).. The texture of the noodles was so freshly made and everything that was served and eaten together with the noodles was amazing :)

If I'm not wrong, this was a tofu dish mixed with assorted vegetables.. As you can see from the picture, it looks exactly just like diced-chicken pieces. And as my friends and I were eating this, we almost couldn't differentiate whether we were dining at a Vegetarian or Non-vegetarian restaurant :p

Forgotten the name of this dish but the gravy served together with this dish was just perfect! I'm not trying to promote this restaurant even though I know it may seemed like it, but honestly speaking, everything we ordered wasn't a disappointment at all!

This was an appetiser dish. In my opinion, this was one of my favourite among all too.. I'm quite a big fan of tofu skins.. And this dish definitely contained all my favourite choice of flavours :)

This was the dessert that we ordered based on the recommendations of the waitress. It's a soy bean paste biscuit :)

Based on the brief descriptions that I've given so far, I can assure you that the place that I've mentioned in this post is an ideal place for Vegetarian lovers who seek for something extraordinary.. Ambience, service, taste of food and everything else is great and I certainly have no complaints at all from my first visit. If I ever visit Beijing again, I would definitely love to try the afternoon tea experience at King's Joy!
