Yesterday, it was finally a time for the girls: Yee Xin, Chloe & I to have a catch-up again over our usual afternoon tea session. This time round, we have decided to give Intercontinental Hotel's afternoon tea at IVIV (165) a try after our last one previously at Grand Hyatt's Thirty8 :)

Well, to be honest, it was just overall okay. I don't know why, but to me, I've always preferred the afternoon tea's in UK in general rather than any other places in KL. Hmm, perhaps it's because based on my personal experience, the service and everything that you get as a whole in UK is obviously a five-star one compared to whatever here in Malaysia. Not only that, the tea set that you order in UK can always be refilled complimentary, whether it is for the pastries, scones or even savouries. And because of this, I would certainly say, having afternoon tea in UK is ultimately much more of satisfactory compared to Malaysia for the price that you're paying.

In case you're wondering, the price for one Royal Afternoon Tea set is RM75, complimentary with a pot of tea of your choice. But please take note that the choices of tea is actually narrowed down to certain types of tea only, based on the prices of tea. For example, you can't choose the tea that is of RM36 or RM32, but instead, it is preferable to choose the cheaper ones ranging from RM21-RM26.

Our tea set. We ordered just two Royal Afternoon tea set to be shared among the three of us.
As you can see, it doesn't seem that appealing judging from the picture here. *evil laugh* However, I would say, their savouries were somewhat interesting because they actually served Pecking Duck in a wrap. Apart from that, scones were a bit disappointing, not up to my expectations at all; desserts on the other hand were not as satisfying as I've thought.

The trios again :)

Our selfie, taken by Yee Xin!

My attempt in taking a selfie of the three of us. Hehe.

Second attempt. The picture's blur, but somehow, I really like it being that way :D

The sakai Ah Ma Low. Trying to look silly for the camera but somehow, I don't think it's working. Haha.

Chloe in her feminine-looking and pretty pastel green Three Floor dress :)

Another picture of myself again. Photo courtesy of Chloe:D
Please excuse my masculine calves. It's just the way I'm born and along with the dance training that I've received since young. Can't hide it *bleh*

A selfie of Yee Xin & I :)

Overall, yesterday's afternoon tea session was one of the longest ones we've had thus far. I'm glad that we've had the chance to had such long conversation over tea. It was simply great and worthwhile :) My guess is, the next time where the three of us would be reuniting again for another afternoon tea session aka Tai Tai Life would be during our next break. Hehe.

Before I end today's post, I would like to post a summary of the respective ratings that I will give based on my visit at IVIV this time for the afternoon tea:

Service: 5/10
Ambiance: 7.5/10
Food: 6/10
Price: $$$

IVIV (OneSixFive)
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
165, Jalan Ampang, 5040, Kuala Lumpur.
+60327826168

Therefore, I would admit that this would probably be my first and the last time I would be visiting OneSixFive for afternoon tea. Maybe some time in the future, I would head there just for a tea with my friends but nothing more than that. For now, I am still in the midst of searching the best places in KL that serves not only good afternoon tea but provides equally impeccable service as it is in the UK! Hehe

That pretty sums up my post for today!

Stay tuned for more<3
