Be who you want to be, not what others expect of you;

A blessing in disguise

11 September 2014
After almost 6 months or more of not meeting my closest primary friend, Grace, I finally got the chance to meet her again. It was definitely nice being able to see this familiar and friendly face again before I head back to the UK next week. I wouldn't deny the fact that we only meet-up as infrequent as probably once to twice a year and only contact/communicate each other whenever I return to Malaysia. However, I've never seen this as a problem and thought that because of this, it would distant us and refrain us from carrying on this friendship. In fact, it was never a problem for the both of us to pick things up again from where we left off from our last meeting.

Truthfully speaking, I'm more than glad and blessed to have such a friend in life that I could hold on to no matter what. I know that if the same situation applies to some other friends of mine where we hardly speak to each other or meet-up only once or twice a year. for most of the time, we would eventually lose touch or even behave as pure acquaintances when we meet again but nothing more than that. Therefore, I would say, this friendship I have with Grace is somewhat really special to me that I appreciate a lot. Knowing that there are people like these in my life just make me realised how lucky I am. ✭

Alright, alright... Enough of those sappy talks...

Okay, so, for our meet-up this time round, we've both decided to go somewhere that serves "healthy" cuisines. Hence, it was the restaurant that called Ashley's By Living Food at Bangsar Telawi that we've gone to for lunch.

The paper table mat of the restaurant, along with my new VB shades at the corner of it. Hehe.

The Organic Plum Tea that I've ordered for myself; Lime Juice for Grace. But to be honest, I really didn't fancy the tea at all despite the waitress recommending it to me and saying it's one of their most favourable teas among the customers. I guess the smell coming out from the tea itself isn't just to my liking. It somehow just tasted weird to me.

Our complimentary salads that were served to us before our mains came.

The Lentil Soup that I've ordered as a starter to be shared among Grace and I. Frankly, this is really something beyond my definition of "HEALTHY". Haha! I seriously can't picture myself having this on any other days again. After my first try of this soup today, I don't think lentils would be something that I will buy anytime in the near future. #sorrybutnotsorry

My main course: Steak Sandwich.
My steak was cooked medium-well and there were sides like roasted asparagus and seasoned sweet potatoes. In my opinion, the sandwich wasn't too bad, but again, the toppings on the sandwich such as the greens, avocados, tomatoes as well as the slightly baked raw cheese aren't really my thing. I somehow thought that it was a tad toooo much. I generally preferred it if they have toned down on the toppings and the use of cheese too.

Grace's main course: Posh Burger.
Haha, what an interesting name to a burger. Do you think it looks "posh" at all? *grins* Well, it's basically a lamb patty burger. I think there is beetroot incorporated into the dough of the bread. According to her, she thinks the burger tasted not too bad. So I'm guessing this is quite a healthy yet yummy burger :)

My cute bestie with her glass of Lime Juice :D

After our meal, it's time for some selfiessss!

The both of us were supposed to look normal in this selfie, but Grace decided to do something different. Haha.

Yup, now it's the part where we're supposed to do "silly" faces.

Before we left, we requested a decent picture to be taken for the both of us. Hehe <3

How rarely do I actually get to have a picture together with this girl next to me?!

Overall, food is generally great and service is good as well! If you're a health freak or someone who loves Raw, Vegan, Gluten Free kind of food, this is totally the place that you should visit some day! Their lunch and dinner menu varies most of the time. So, do give it a try if you're interested ;)

After that, we did not waste anytime in getting our stomach filled with desserts. So, obviously, the most convenient place to go for another round would be the Inside Scoop which is just two doors down only . Finally, I get to eat this again after my first try when the puggy was still around in KL. Came here with a goal in my head: I need to try the Durian flavour this time.. However, I ended up not getting the Durian flavour again :/ Oh well, maybe it's a sign that I should come back here again some other days to grab their Durian flavour ice-cream!

Needless to say, we have chosen to sit at the area outside instead of the indoor seatings. Reason was simple: we could have more privacy to ourselves and this means nobody would judge us when we start snapping endless pictures / selfies of each other. Hahaha.

True enough, I think the pictures below proved it all. Heh. In fact, I didn't actually upload all of the pictures here as I afraid it might bore you guys out. :p

My best friend is a shy girl. *laughs*

Another picture of my bestie since primary school ❤

Love this picture taken by Grace of me. Haha, I really like the idea of how I was seated in this picture which was next to this wall filled with plenty of scribbles from the permanent marker pen. I feel that this has somewhat made the entire picture seem more artistic in a way. *winks*

Just me again. Haha. Grace just loves taking pictures of me, LOL.

Take #1: Smiles more widely.

Take #2: Tries to smile in a more feminine / demure way.

& finally after such a long wait and endless photo-snapping session, our waffles with ice-creams are here! I present you, pistachio and their famous in-house chocolate flavour. I've forgotten what exactly the name was, but all I remembered is it's the chocolate flavour without the XO in it. At the same time, these two flavours that we've chosen are both premium flavours, which means it's an additional charge of RM1.50 for a scoop of these from the normal price if I'm not wrong.

Myself with our plate of dessert. I was actually trying to imitate someone, if you know who I meant. Heh.

Grace's way of holding the plate of dessert in a picture. :p

HAHA, it took me so long to not laugh while being photographed by Grace for this picture! ><"

Ending with this picture of the both of us <3

In short, it was truly amazing to see my dear friend again after so long.. Time flies while the both of us were busy talking and taking pictures. Somehow, I feel that 3 hours plus of lunch/dessert with this girl wasn't enough at all! Oh well, I believe there's always another chance for us to meet-up again before I fly off to the UK, so I don't have to worry :)

Okie dokes, it's late and definitely time for me to hit the sack.

Another outing to go tomorrow~

Nights all,

KrystalH
