Hi guys! Been meaning to update my blog for the past few days actually, but I was really busy with my preparation for my postgraduate studies application.. From working on my personal statement to the endless career planning questions coming from the universities that I'm interested at, I think for now, I can finally take a bit of a breather, before I begin another phase of my life. That would be my final year at the University of Manchester as an undergraduate student.
Apart from that, I am finally done and over with IELTS. Went through my speaking, listening, reading and writing tests, all of which took place on an oddly early hour last Saturday. Phew, so glad that it's finished now. All I need to do now is just wait for my results that would be released on the exact day that I'm flying off to the UK, in about 12 days time. Hopefully it all goes well~
For now, I believe that all I've gotta do is to set my priorities straight and sorted out before I head back to the UK officially to begin my new term this time. I really can't afford to lose focus and on things that aren't worth my time or effort anymore. I reckon that final year is definitely a difficult one, and no last minute preparations or revisions can help it anymore as much as it did for my First and Second year. Plus, as a final year student for my degree, it is compulsory for us to do a research. Therefore, this explains why I certainly can't be distracted by things like watching dramas, shopping, partying or even travelling anymore.
"Krystal, priorities.. Remember"
I really need a constant reminder of that for myself.. Need to really refrain myself from going through another emotional rollercoaster ride, whether it is regarding relationship, people, friends or whatever, because that seriously isn't going to help me in anything. Honestly, I think I need to be less sensitive towards the things around me, probably be more ignorant in other words. Hmm, like they say, "Ignorant is bliss." Hah, that kind of attitude could be of advantage to me this time, who knows?
So, all I'm hoping for is a great kick start to my final year at Manchester that is totally free from negativities or anything that could possibly affect me in any way. Also, hoping to get myself more actively involved in terms of academic, extra-curricular or even anything that could be beneficial for me as a whole as I return this time.
Okay, enough of serious talks about my uni life and so, now, I'll just let the following pictures do most of the talking :)

Last week, managed to meet up with Erin! It's been so long since we last met one another. As I recall, I think it was before my final paper for Second year that I actually met her.. Time really flies~ & now, she's officially a graduate from her Accounting and Finance degree at Manchester too!
So, we had a simple lunch at Yuzu, and after that, decided to go to Nana's Green Tea place at Midvalley/Gardens since I have not been there before. Heh. Was simply nice having to be able to catch up with this girl<3
Our orders for that day: Green Tea latte with Green Tea ice-cream & their famous in-house green tea dessert.
Take #1 Erin & I :)
Take #2
Take #3
Another final picture of us before we went off to our separate ways :)

Also, two weeks ago, I managed to try one of the highly-raved chocolate cakes in Klang Valley that most people have been talking about.
It was the Lé Trianon's signature Trianon cake, in the rectangle/square-liked shaped that is found at Citta Mall. Yea, you heard me, it's Citta Mall.
I was really surprised when I was being told that in Citta Mall itself, there's a cake shop that most public, and even people from the upper-class society (like Sultan's family etc) loved to go to purchase cakes for occasions, specially because the taste of the cake is good. So, obviously, after having to hear all these over-exaggerated comments, I finally decided to pay a visit at the mall to purchase a cake from Lé Trianon once and for all, to find out the taste of the cake by myself.
In the end, I got the signature cake, and in a smaller size instead of the usual big ones. So it was actually about RM65 for the size of the cake that I got.
The paper bag.
For every cake that you buy, it comes in this styrofoam package. In a way, it prevents the texture of the cake from melting too fast.
I present you the signature Trianon Chocolate Cake.
A closer-up of the cake. Basically, this size was just nice. It consisted of three different layers: the top one is a fudgy chocolate kind of texture, middle one would be like hazelnut praline, or shall I say nutella(?) and the bottom most layer would be the crispy crackers.
Honestly, I thought that the cake was overall just okay. Even my sister and I were both initially super excited and looking forward to tasting the cake as soon as we bought it.. But right after we've taken our first bite, I've got to admit, we were both equally quite disappointed in a way. Probably because our expectations were somehow set very high after hearing those endless praises from outsiders who've personally tried it before.
In our opinion, we both agreed that the cake was a tad too sweet. I think they should have used a darker and slightly bitter chocolate for the top most layer, instead of the chocolate that they've used here. This is because the middle layer of the cake was already equally as sweet as the top one.. Therefore, I don't think having the same sweetness for both layers would do any good. In fact, it might make you feel a bit sick (they call it "gelat" in Malay) after you realised that you still got a lot more to go before you actually finish a slice of the cake. Yeap, I would say that was how I felt exactly after taking my first few bites.
Anyway, if you're one who loves exploring new chocolate cakes and who doesn't mind the sweetness of the cake or whatsoever, I would suggest that you do give it a try in purchasing one of this signature Trianon cakes ;) Who knows, you might love it and have a totally different view about this cake instead of the way I've thought about it.
p/s: I rate this cake 6.5 out of 10!
