Be who you want to be, not what others expect of you;

Staying strong

21 September 2014
I'm officially back in Manchester :)

Touched down at London Heathrow airport yesterday morning. Flight was delayed by almost an hour plus, which resulted in a very late schedule of arrival in the UK that was around 7.10am instead of the supposedly expected time of arrival at 5.50am.

Somehow, I hoped that the respective parties in charge have informed us about this delay instead of having us to wait and sit in the plane for so long when they've already notified us to switch off all of our electrical appliances and that the plane will be taking off soon. I thought it was really a waste of time waiting in the plane like that, without any announcement made or whatsoever.

Anyway, my flight was really full. Had to wait for a really long time for my luggages to arrive, which wasn't that great since it actually caused further delays for me in catching the next earliest train back to Manchester from Euston station. When I arrived at the train station, was glad that I could take my time in handling those awfully heavy luggages of mine right till the platform of the train.

Was really impressed with myself this time since I didn't really need any help in carrying them up to and off the train, though there were obvious sign of struggles that I had with my luggages *hides face* haha. So I opted to sit at the First Class carriage on the Virgins Train back to Manchester, which was definitely worth it. I was served some snacks and drinks throughout my journey, certainly what I needed most especially after such long hours of flight.

In case you don't know, this time, I flew back to the UK alone (again). Can't deny the fact that I somewhat miss those days where I get to fly together with my pug because I know I can always depend on him in lifting those heavy luggages of mine from the belt collection. Not only that, I can always just rant about any complaints that I have towards whatever I could think of when he's around me..

Oh well, I guess I really have to get used to this by now as the days pass.. At the moment, I'm just trying my best to keep myself occupied by utilising my time in sorting out my stuffs at the apartment, organising my things before I begin lessons officially as a FINAL YEAR student at the University of Manchester tomorrow, and catching up with my friends who are already back in the UK as well.

So, I really have to bear in mind that this year in Manchester would be a very different one compared to previous years. I don't really have to stock up much supplies at my place in Manchester for two or more since most of the time, it would just be me living by myself in the apartment, without occasional visits from the puggy like it used to be last time. Well, probably only when my siblings come for a visit with me c: Other than that, I guess it will mostly be just what I need that is enough for one only.

Most of all, despite of having to travel alone and do most of the things by myself this time without the puggy being physically around or in the same timezone as me anymore, I have to admit that this LDR honestly have given me the opportunity to see who are those friends or people that truly cares and matter to me. So blessed to know of the friends I have in Manchester that will always be there for me in terms of physical or emotional help; just what I needed most to know who I can truly count on.

I know I shouldn't sound like I'm going through some 360degrees transition that kind of thing, but frankly speaking, if you haven't been through such relationship as long as mine and having to experience any LDR when you've been studying in the same country for so long with your partner, it is undoubtedly quite a difficult transition that I have to adapt to. Because after all, I've had so much memories with him while we were both in the UK before this, from daily life activities to traveling purposes, we've both indeed shared quite a fair bit of mutual interests in a lot of things. (okay, I can do this!!)

Apart from all these things, I would say, the weather in the UK has been rather welcoming so far. Thankfully it's not yet gloomy and all, plus, the sign of raindrops are not as much as previous years during this time, so, I'm grateful for such a great start since I'm back in the UK <3 Couldn't have asked for more.

Hopefully I'll use this time to reorganise my priorities (I say it again), do what's important for myself and for the both of us, as well as fully utilising my remaining time in Manchester as a final year student in a very beneficial way!

Before I end today's post, would like to post some food pictures that I really enjoyed two days ago before I flew back to the UK. Prepare to salivate :p

Kuriya's signature maki roll. (Y)

A simple soft shell crab salad to serve with sesame dressing. Yummy.

Chef's specially prepared sashimi platter for the four of us that night. So freshhhh and delicious!

The claypot rice that I've ordered, which was also one of their favourites in the restaurant.

Fresh Unagi from Japan that was grilled. MMMMhmmmm~

Some beef that was almost similar to Kobe beef, cooked medium-rare. Enjoyed it a lot!

And finally, a random picture of the super sweet yet juicy Japanese rock melon that my dad bought and cut for me before I leave! LOVED IT!

Alright, that's pretty much all for today!

Time to unpack some remaining things of mine that are still laying around in my luggage!

Till then guys,
